M’s Kitchen is a celebration of all things home-baked and home cooked
It is a place where sense and soul can meet and confidence gets room to grow.
The stories, recipes and experiences shared in this blog are synonymous with our Southern African heritage.
We believe in real, hearty, simple, comfort food.
Food that can be attempted by just about anyone, irrespective of your cooking ability.
We suggest alternatives that you can use instead should typical Southern African ingredients not be readily available.
We focus on real life experiences and real cooking.
Thus, we choose not to use filters or photo-editing software for our images.
What you see in M’s Kitchen is what you get
All the recipes are prepared and tested in M’s Kitchen.
We use our years of cooking and baking experience to adjust the recipes should they not add up.
We share our love for cooking and baking, because we really do love cooking and baking.
Our aim is simple – make more people aware of and appreciate Southern African food.
We focus primarily on recipes originating from South Africa and Namibia.
However, we are always happy to expand our horizons to include the rest of Southern Africa.
If you would like us to try and share your favourite recipe from home, get in touch here.
Southern Africa is a melting pot of many different cultures, making the food truly ecclectic.
For Africans of all ages, food is an essential part of our culture and heritage, but it is always tasty and made from the heart.
Over the next months, we will be sharing our experiences.
Also the philosophy behind our cooking and baking.
Whether a new taste adventure or just a reminder of home, we encourage you to join us in our journey.
Our mission of discovery is to see if and how these recipes – some used for centuries, can be replicated around the world.
